JUSTIN GROVE
PRESIDENT | TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Justin Grove brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to Grove United. Grove is a former professional player for the Richmond Kickers in the United States. He has international playing experience with professional French club Red Star FC and semi-pro South African clubs Magic FC and Grassy Park Utd. Before going abroad, Grove was a full-scholarship player at the University of Richmond in the NCAA Division I.
Justin Grove is certified by the French Football Federation, United States Soccer Federation, Scottish Football Association, and the Irish Football Association and holds a UEFA B license. He coached at the Red Star FC Academy in Paris, France which has developed numerous professional players throughout all levels of professional soccer. He has over 15 years of experience coaching in the United States, South Africa, and France. Grove has developed players who are currently playing in pro clubs, semi-pro clubs, and on scholarship in the United States NCAA 1st, 2nd, and 3rd divisions.
Grove has a Master's degree in Business from the University of Paris 10 and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Richmond. He brings his academic background to the Grove United program to guide players in their development off the pitch and in their college recruitment process.

JEFF GETTLER
DIRECTOR OF COACHING
Grove United is pleased to announce Jeff Gettler as its Director of Coaching.
Jeff Gettler brings a wealth of experience to Grove United, having 39 years of collegiate coaching experience and 308 NCAA men’s soccer victories. Gettler spent 33 years as a collegiate head coach including 14 years (1995-2008) at the University of Richmond [NCAA I], and four years (1991-94) leading Lafayette College [NCAA I], which featured a combined three teams making the national final. He also spent nine years (1982-90) at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst [NCAA I], four years (1978-81) leading Bates College [NCAA III], and two years (1976-77) at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell [NCAA II].
Gettler spent six seasons (2010-15) as coach and Deputy Director of Athletics at Husson University [NCAA III], leading the Eagles to three conference titles and three national tournament appearances. In 2009, Gettler was an assistant coach at Bradley University [NCAA I], working alongside head coach Jim DeRose, one of his former assistant coaches.
While at the University of Richmond, Gettler led the spiders to a top 20 national ranking for a number of years, culminating in a 1998 CAA Championship and an automatic NCAA tournament berth. That team was captained by current Director of Goalkeeping, Adrian Clewlow. They also earned their first-ever NCAA at-large berth in 2002, making their third all-time appearance in the postseason. In 2003, the University of Richmond won its first Atlantic 10 regular season title with its eighth consecutive winning season.
In addition to his collegiate career, Gettler has over 10 years of experience as a Director of Coaching in both state associations and youth clubs. In these roles, he won several U17 & U19 league titles, took his U17 & U19 teams to national championships and managed a staff of over 30 coaches on coaching development. He also initiated, organized, taught, and administered the state association coaching certificate program, having licensed over 270 coaches.

Gettler is one of the most decorated coaches in the region, holding numerous licenses and certificates and boasting years of international experience. Among Gettler's credentials are a U.S. Soccer A license, FA International Coaching certificate (Bisham Abbey, England), KNVB certificate (Zeist, Holland), DFB International Trainer-Kongress (Aachen, Germany) and a CBD diploma (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). In addition, he has attended the B license coaching course in Toronto, Canada and two English FA's Managers and Coaches courses in Cheshire, England.
Gettler holds a master's degree in Human Movement from Boston University and a bachelor of arts from Lycoming. With his years of college recruiting experience and an extensive coaching network he will help to guide our players in their college recruitment process.
Gettler has been thoroughly involved with the United Soccer Coaches Association and its coaching education programs since entering the field. As a 37 year member of the NSCAA/USC, he has served as a National Staff Coach for the Academy, a Clinician at the National Convention in '84, '90, and '94, he hosted and organized four Regional Conventions in New England, and was the National Convention Program Director for the NSCAA National Conventions in '85, '86, and '87. Gettler was a USSF national staff coach, licensing coaches for national C, B, and A levels of certification.
Eighteen of his assistant coaches progressed to head and assistant college coaching positions, as his infectious passion for the game influenced others to pursue college coaching careers.
Gettler will oversee the coaching development, curriculum design, and player development within Grove United. He will work with the technical staff to refine training methods and will work with Grove United players to make a direct impact in players’ progress.
ADRIAN CLEWLOW
ACGK DIRECTOR | DIRECTOR OF GOALKEEPING | PRO TEAM ASSISTANT
Grove Soccer is proud to be in partnership with one of the top GK Academies in the country, ACGK. Originally from Dover, England, Adrian Clewlow is the owner and GK Director of ACGK, LLC, and holds a FA Youth Coaching Certification, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma and is a USSF licensed coach.

Clewlow played in the youth and academy teams for both Gillingham F.C. and Chelsea F.C. in England, and also represented England at the U-18 schoolboy level, making his debut against Switzerland in Zurich.
He later attended the University of Richmond, where he was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Richmond Spiders. Nominated as the CAA Rookie of the Year, and a two-time All-South Regional All-American in his final two seasons, Clewlow led the team to the 1998 CAA Championship.
Clewlow’s professional playing career included stints with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, New Orleans Storm, and two seasons with the Richmond Kickers, before coaching college soccer at Randolph-Macon College, Franklin Pierce University, and the University of Richmond. He also served as the Goalkeeping Coach for the Richmond Kickers Pro Soccer Club in the USL League One and served as the Director of Goalkeeping for the Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club.
SHANE CALVERT
GROVE UNITED ACADEMY COACH
Coach Shane Calvert joins Grove United bringing years of college coaching and director of coaching experience to Grove United!
Coach Calvert was the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at NCAA Division II Lees-McRae College, becoming the 10th head coach in the program’s history. Shane’s collegiate coaching experiences also include stops at Wofford College (2015-2017), Clemson University (2014-2015) and his alma mater Tusculum University (2005-2007).
Career highlights include helping coach Clemson to the 2014 ACC Championship and to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament and helping coach Tusculum reach No. 1 in the NCAA Division II national rankings during his time with the team a few years prior.

He has helped developed national championship winning teams and helped push players on to the pro level. His first-hand experience working with elite players will be crucial in developing and guiding our players to the next level. In addition to his vast college coaching experience, Coach Calvert has been heavily involved in youth development, coaching in several clubs across the country. He was most recently the Executive Director of Cook Inlet SC where he oversaw all aspects of the club.

BO RENES
GROVE UNITED ACADEMY COACH
Coach Bo brings an international coaching background and a wealth of knowledge and experience to Grove United.

With over 25 years of coaching experience, Coach Bo has become a seasoned and respected coach around the world. He has spent the last 14 years building football infrastructure, coaching teams, developing football academies, and training local coaches in several nations across Southern Asia. Coach Bo currently holds a USSF C license and brings his Dutch coaching and development philosophy Grove United.
"I hope to not only train championship winning football teams but to also develop successful players who become influencers of positive change within their communities," said Coach Bo Renes.

His passion for the game of football started at a young age in his home country of The Netherlands where he debuted for his club’s senior team at the age of 14. His football journey as a player took him to other areas of Europe and the world including Germany, France, Asia, and the USA.
“Coach Bo has a unique ability to connect with players and build high-level teams. His international experience developing players will bring another dimension to the Grove United player pathway and further enhance our mission to offer the best developmental environment for those wanting to learn and play at the next level, both here and abroad,” states Grove United President, Justin Grove.
Coach Bo is also a proud father of four and proud grandfather of two amazing girls.

SAM BECKMAN

The Grove Soccer Academy is pleased to welcome Sam Beckman to its coaching staff.

Coach Sam is a Richmond native growing up as a player in the Richmond Strikers academy programs. Sam went on to play college soccer at Bridgewater College. He further honed his skills during a transformative year with the Northumbria University soccer and futsal teams and the I2I Soccer Academy in Newcastle, England. Sam is currently playing for the Grove United first team. During these experiences, Sam has encountered and learned from high-level coaches with many different perspectives on the game.
Beyond the field, Coach Sam earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bridgewater College and a Master of Science in International Sport Management from Northumbria University. Sam holds a coaching certificate through the Scottish FA and is pursuing a UEFA coaching license through the Federation of Wales. Sam is devoted to working with young players to build good habits to help them improve and reach their potential on and off the pitch.
NEIL PARR
PRO TEAM ASSISTANT COACH
The Grove Soccer Academy is pleased to welcome Neil Parr to its coaching staff.

Neil brings a wealth of international experience to the academy having played and coached in his native England and the USA. Born and raised in Liverpool, UK, Neil began playing soccer at an early age after being scouted and coached on Merseyside by former Everton and England star Alan Whittle, playing in the Wirral Schools FA (WSFA).
Neil went on to play for Academy teams in Liverpool and played at Goodison Park, the home of his beloved Everton FC as a youth. After relocating to the northeast of England, he played semi-professionally in the Northern League.
Neil brings intensity, experience, and advanced technical and tactical knowledge adapted from English playing styles. He has been involved in the beautiful game for over 40 years and is in the process of completing his Scottish FA and Irish Football Association certifications.
EDUARDO GAMA

The Grove Soccer Academy is pleased to welcome Eduardo Gama to its coaching staff.

Gama brings international playing and coaching experience having played and coached in Brazil, Australia and the US.
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Coach Gama started to play futsal at age 3 for Sport Club Mackenzie. Gama went on to play for Brazilian Youth Academies Flamengo and Vasco da Gama before and joining Concord University in NCAA DII. Gama played semi-professionally with the Joplin Demize.

Coach Gama brings collegiate and youth coaching experience to Grove Soccer. He was the assistant coach at NJCAA Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and has coached is all ages and levels in the youth game over the last 10 years.

Gama has earned a Sports Management bachelor's degree from NCAA DII Concord University and an associate's degree in General Studies from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M college. Gama is licensed by the USSF and Scottish FA and holds an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/B).
ALANE ANDRADE
PRO TEAM ASSISTANT COACH
Grove Soccer United welcomes Coach Alane to the pro staff. Coach Alane was born and raised in Salvador, Brazil, where she grew up playing soccer. Prior to moving to the United States, she coached in the youth academy at professional 1st division Brazilian clubs Esporte Clube Bahia and Esporte Clube Vitoria. Alane was recruited as a full scholarship player at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M where she was a stand-out center-back in the squad. Coach Alane is licensed with the US Federation and is pursuing licensing with the Scottish FA.

Coach Alane then transferred to the University of Tampa, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Performance with a concentration in Exercise and Science. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. Coach Alane is also a veteran and served in the U.S. Army.

I am Dr. Andrew Stube, team physical therapist and owner of The Elite Mission. I obtained my doctorate in physical therapy in 2013, completed a residency in orthopedic physical therapy in 2015, and became an orthopedic clinical specialist in 2016. I have played soccer recreationally from the age of 4; and now I use my training as a physical therapist and orthopedic specialist to work with soccer players of all skill levels. Over the years, I have seen how traditional physical therapy has often fallen short of addressing the needs of elite soccer players. I created The Elite Mission to change that!

My passion has always been to see an athlete reach their full potential not only as an athlete but as a person as well. Every athlete is unique and has a different story. My calling is to provide them with the tools they require and push them to achieve greatness in their sport and life. As a coach, I always instill in my athletes the idea that their level of success is equal to the amount of sacrifice they are willing to make. Great things happen on the other side of suffering!!
